How to fix the Xerox 6130 Toner invalid black error?
Firstly if you get the ‘invalid’ error, you should completely turn off your Xerox 6130 printer. This includes unplugging the unit from the socket. Then remove your 6130 cartridge from the printer and close the printer’s door. Wait at least 30 to 60 seconds. Now restart the printer and then install the toner cartridge. Your toner should now work perfectly for you!

If this does not work, then the fault could lie in the toner cartridge’s ID chip. All Xerox toners have an ID chip. This lets the manufacturer know when exactly the cartridge has been used. One of the reasons for getting the ‘invalid black’ error is that you might have refilled your used toner cartridge and forgot to reset the ID chip when it was refilled. If the ID chip is not reset on an already used toner cartridge, then the cartridge is most likely to get the ‘invalid’ error.

If you have refilled your toner cartridge, then the refill shop you used should reset the cartridge for you. Alternatively, if you brought a DIY refill kit, then you might need to buy a new reset chip online to replace the old one at home. After doing this, your cartridge should work in the Xerox printer.

If the above solutions do not work, then there could be a possibility that your toner is not genuine or not compatible with your Xerox printer. In which case, you should buy a new genuine 6130 cartridge for your printer and this should do the trick. If you are not sure which toner is compatible with your Xerox printer, then please contact our support team for further help.
How to check toner levels for Phaser 6130 Cartridges?
To check the toner levels of your Xerox phaser 6130 toner cartridges, you will first need to know your printer’s IP address. If you are not sure, then you should print out the configuration report, which lists the IP address, along with other details of your printer.

Next, open up any browser on your computer. Then enter your printer’s IP address in the address bar. You should now see the CentreWare Internet Services page. Click on the ‘Status’ button and then select the ‘Supplies’ option. You should now be able to check the toner levels of your 6130 cartridges from this screen.
What is the yield on a 6130 Toner?
The typical yield of an original Xerox 6130 toner is between 1,900 to 2,500 pages per cartridge. The yield of a black toner cartridge is normally a maximum of 2,500 pages. While the yield of a blue, magenta and yellow toner is a maximum of 1,900 pages.

In most cases, our compatible range of 6130 cartridges has the exact same yield as the original cartridge range. However, our magenta toner may only have a maximum of 1,800 pages compared to 1,900 on an original 6130 magenta cartridge.
How to replace Xerox Phaser 6130 toner?
To replace toner cartridges on your Xerox 6130 printer, start by opening the cover to reveal your toner cartridges inside. Then carefully remove the old toner cartridge and set it aside somewhere safe. Now remove the packaging from your new toner and shake it slightly to move the powder around inside.

Next, align your new toner cartridge into the correct slot inside the printer. Push slightly until it clicks into place. Finally, close the printer cover and that’s it, you’re done!
Can I replace the Xerox 6130 imaging unit?
Yes, you can. To replace the imaging unit on your phaser 6130 printer, you first need to make sure that you have completely switched the printer off. This also means removing the plug from the socket. Next open up the front cover of the printer, by pushing in on the side button and lifting the cover down.

You should then see four levers inside. Turn each of these levers at a 90-degree angle to unlock the imaging unit. Carefully remove the unit from the printer, by touching the top part of it. Never touch the bottom area of the imaging unit. Now put your old imagining unit in a safe place ready for recycling.

Next, remove the packaging from your new Xerox 6130 imaging unit. And then carefully slot the new unit into your printer by putting the top part in first. Then lower the unit completely until it clicks into place. Now you can close the front cover and power up your printer. Your printer is now ready to print.
Can the Xerox 6130 cartridges be recycled?
Unfortunately, we are not able to recycle any Xerox toner cartridges. However, there are a number of alternative ways to recycle your Xerox 6130 cartridges:
  1. Return your used 6130 cartridges to Xerox for recycling.
  2. Refill your toner cartridges at a local refill shop
  3. Many high streets and supermarkets may offer Xerox cartridge recycling boxes or schemes.
Printerinks are 100% committed to recycling, so think before you trash your printer products. Visit our recycling page to learn more.
