Firstly if you get the ‘invalid’ error, you should completely turn off your Xerox 6130 printer. This includes unplugging the unit from the socket. Then remove your 6130 cartridge from the printer and close the printer’s door. Wait at least 30 to 60 seconds. Now restart the printer and then install the toner cartridge. Your toner should now work perfectly for you!
If this does not work, then the fault could lie in the toner cartridge’s ID chip. All Xerox toners have an ID chip. This lets the manufacturer know when exactly the cartridge has been used. One of the reasons for getting the ‘invalid black’ error is that you might have refilled your used toner cartridge and forgot to reset the ID chip when it was refilled. If the ID chip is not reset on an already used toner cartridge, then the cartridge is most likely to get the ‘invalid’ error.
If you have refilled your toner cartridge, then the refill shop you used should reset the cartridge for you. Alternatively, if you brought a DIY refill kit, then you might need to buy a new reset chip online to replace the old one at home. After doing this, your cartridge should work in the Xerox printer.
If the above solutions do not work, then there could be a possibility that your toner is not genuine or not compatible with your Xerox printer. In which case, you should buy a new genuine 6130 cartridge for your printer and this should do the trick. If you are not sure which toner is compatible with your Xerox printer, then please contact
